Delegates for the Europe region
of the ATD Fourth World Movement
For the past three years, members of the Movement
throughout the world have worked together to
try and understand how extreme poverty is violence
and how those who experience such poverty are
earnestly seeking peace.
At Unesco, on January 26,
an international symposium “Extreme poverty is violence, breaking the silence, searching for peace”,
brought this work to the attention of the public.
In the various countries of Europe, over the last few
months and still today, dynamic action is being taken
in different forms, to enable members of the Movement to get closer to each other, to get to know each
other better, in terms of who they are and what they
do, and thus to grow stronger together.
On this basis, we came up with the idea of a European
meeting, which will be held at the Movement’s International headquarters in France from May 17 to 20.
