Dear faithful readers,
I write you in this issue to address a growing problem.
In fact, this problem is growing in all the
wrong places; our nation’s children.
Fast food companies continue to rake in record profits,
while our children are growing obese at record rates.
Nearly one third of American children will
eat fast food today.
That is, one in three children will consume an unhealthy meal in place of the
adequate nutrition that they deserve.
All the while, the United States proudly boasts the largest fast food industry in the world.

The Box, for example, operates 560 restaurants in Texas alone.
The reality is that fast food is a
pervasive part of our culture and it is here to stay, for now at least.
This reality, however, should
not come at the expense of future generations.
As this issue will highlight, the law has always found a way to protect those that do not have the
ability to protect themselves.
